I came in trying to pressure-test a business hypothesis in the DTC space and left with the thesis sharpened, the gaps in my thinking named, and a much clearer view of which pieces would land with operators and which wouldn't. What stood out: * He doesn't generalize. When I floated something, he'd give me a real example from his own operations and then push back on the parts that didn't match how mid-market DTC actually behaves. That kind of specificity is rare in a 30-minute call. * He validated the model, not just the problem. A lot of mentors will agree the problem exists; Ravi went further and walked me through which structural pricing/packaging choices would actually feel right to a DTC operator getting pitched — and which ones would get politely ignored. * He gave me honest pushback. When I asked the easy questions, he answered the hard ones. He surfaced reasons a founder wouldn't engage with what I'm building, which was way more useful than another round of affirmation. If you're building anything where DTC operators are the buyer — finance tooling, supply-chain software, vendor-side services — Ravi is one of the highest-signal 30 minutes you can spend.
