About MentorPass
The list
Most product advice comes from people who have never owned a P&L. This roster is the opposite: founders and product leaders who scaled real brands, ranked by depth in physical products and CPG.
Fmr. CPO at Dr. Squatch (acquired by Unilever for $1.5B)
Alex was Chief Product Officer at Dr. Squatch and led it from early stage through to its $1.5B Unilever acquisition in 2025. He has lived the full arc: idea validation, MVP, product design, and scaling a product line that holds up under hyper-growth. Bring him your what-to-build and how-to-scale-it questions.
Sound familiar?
The problems founders bring our product operators — and what they walk away with.
I am spreading too thin, trying to do every product and service at once.
One hero SKU you can fund, focus, and scale, with a clear plan for what comes next.
Every brand we talk to loves what we're doing, but we're unable to convert.

Test interest with ads, prototypes, or customer conversations before you commit to inventory.
Sequence the launch, the channel, and the media so the product lands instead of stalling.
Set premium pricing and structure the offer to protect gross profit per visitor.
Choose suppliers, get packaging and labeling right, and clear quality and compliance hurdles.
How MentorPass works
Find your expert, book a call, solve your problem — and keep them on when you’re ready.
Browse the ranked list of vetted operators. Every profile shows their track record, the brands they’ve scaled, and exactly what they go deep on.
Pick a time and share your context up front. They review it before you meet — no spending the first 20 minutes on background.
The guide
A product consultant helps you answer the questions that decide whether a physical product makes money: what to build, whether anyone wants it, how to source and package it, what to charge, and how to get it to shelf without burning margin. For a CPG or DTC brand that usually means choosing a hero SKU instead of launching ten things at once, validating demand before you commit to inventory, and setting premium pricing that protects gross profit per visitor. Later it means deciding when to expand the line and how to move from D2C into retail.
The good ones work on your actual numbers. They start by understanding your economics, point out where you are spreading too thin, and give specific next steps rather than general best practices.
Hire someone who has owned the outcome, not just advised on it. The difference shows up fast: an operator who scaled a brand from zero knows which corners you can cut early and which ones come back to bite you at volume. Look for direct product experience in your category, especially if you sell something physical, since sourcing, packaging, and compliance are where inexperienced founders lose the most time and money.
Check for range. Product decisions touch pricing, positioning, operations, and channel all at once, so the most useful advisors can move between them. And check the reviews. The pattern you want is specific advice, good questions up front, and preparation, not vague encouragement.
The operators here have built the brands you are trying to build. The roster includes the former CPO of Dr. Squatch (acquired by Unilever for $1.5B), the former COO of AG1 (scaled past $600M in revenue and a $1.2B valuation), the CEO of Bloom Nutrition (zero to $100M a year), and the co-founder of Obvi, plus a CPG quality and compliance specialist and a Target emerging-brands leader for the retail jump.
You book by the session, so you can get one decision unstuck or work with someone over months. Most of the demand here comes from ecommerce brands, and plenty are pre-launch or early in revenue, so the advice is calibrated to early operators, not just nine-figure ones. You come with the decision you are stuck on, and you leave with a specific plan from someone who has made that call before.

Expert operators
Ronak really took the time to dive deep with us. He asked thoughtful questions, looked at our business economics from every angle, and helped break down the real constraints we’re dealing with. The way he explained things just made sense, and his advice around building teams, hiring the right people, and structuring the business was honestly spot-on. Super easy guy to talk to, sharp as hell, and genuinely wants to help. Would definitely recommend chatting with him if you’re looking to learn from someone who’s been in the trenches and actually gets it.
Why MentorPass
When you need product help, you have four options. Here's how they actually stack up.
Industries
Real reps in these verticals, not theory. The kind of pattern-matching that only comes from having shipped in your category.
FAQ
They help you decide what to build, validate that people want it, source and package it, price it, and get it to market. On MentorPass that is a working session on your specific product, not a slide deck.
You book by the session and pay with credits, so you can get one focused answer or work with someone over months. Several founders here say a single session paid for itself within 24 hours.
Most operators have availability within days. You pick the person, pick a time, and come with your numbers and the decision you are stuck on.

Hire Founders & Operators from Top Brands
CEO at Bloom Nutrition
Greg runs Bloom Nutrition and has scaled CPG and supplement brands from $0 to $100M a year. He knows what separates a hero product that carries a brand from a line that spreads it too thin. Useful when you are launching, expanding the line, or fighting for premium pricing.
Former COO at AG1, scaled to $600M+ revenue and $1.2B valuation
Ben was COO at AG1 during its run to over $600M in revenue and a $1.2B valuation in four years, and has operated across Earth Breeze, Sugarfina, and Williams-Sonoma. Reviewers call him methodical and specific: he comes prepared and turns 30 minutes into a week of work. Strong on operations, quality at scale, and the math behind a product line.
CEO & Co-Founder at Obvi
Ronak co-founded and runs Obvi, a bootstrapped supplement brand, and has the most reviewed track record on this roster, at a 4.96 average. Founders say his advice paid for itself within 24 hours. Best for D2C product positioning, validating demand, and the unit economics of a physical-product launch.
Paid media, creative, and CPG operator (550+ sessions)
Nick has run more than 550 sessions on MentorPass with a 4.99 rating across paid media, creative, subscription, and CPG. His promise is the work: specific, direct, helpful. Use him to pressure-test a product launch and the media plan that has to carry it.
CPG quality and compliance expert, ex-MaryRuth's and doTERRA, CEO at Qualitas
Nate spent 15+ years inside CPG quality and compliance at MaryRuth's and doTERRA and now runs Qualitas. He protects supply chains and reputations through testing, quality control, and compliance. The person to call when you have packaging, labeling, or quality questions and little experience with them.
Founder & CEO at Cadence
Ross founded and runs Cadence and has scaled CPG brands both online and in retail. Reviewers describe him as humble and genuinely invested in the problem in front of him. Good for go-to-market, branding, and the jump from D2C to shelf.
Emerging Brands Leader at Target, retail advisor
Eric leads emerging brands at Target and advises founders on breaking into retail and scaling once they are in. He sees what wins a buyer meeting and what kills one from the other side of the table. The right call before you pitch a retailer.
CEO at k2o by Kylie Jenner; prev. CRO at MaryRuth's
Jay is CEO at k2o by Kylie Jenner and was CRO at MaryRuth's, so he has scaled CPG brands both online and in store. He spans branding, go-to-market, paid, email, and direct sales: the full revenue side of a product. Useful when launch and channel strategy have to work together.
Positioning and an offer that turns interest into purchases, grounded in why people actually buy.
I want to validate demand quickly, responsibly, and with minimal risk before I commit.
A cheap, fast test that tells you whether there is real demand before you order inventory.
I have very little experience with packaging (pouches, bottles, labels, compliance).
Packaging, labeling, and compliance handled correctly the first time, with a supplier you can trust.
We're struggling with quality as we scale, and quality issues aren't getting resolved despite feedback.
Working quality feedback loops and vendor relationships that hold up as volume grows.
We're not sure whether to expand the line or stay focused.
A line expansion decision based on real demand and margin, not on the fear of leaving money on the table.
Decide when to add SKUs and how to move from D2C into retail without overextending.
Get specific, prioritized advice you can act on this week — and keep working with them ongoing if it clicks.
Found your match? Keep your product operator on as an ongoing advisor as you scale.
It was so awesome speaking w/ Nick. In 10 minutes, he affirmed everything I had been thinking, not only by gut, but also by personal experience. It's always amazing to align so well with people while you're working through something big to get that devil off your shoulder. 12/10 would recommend speaking to him if you're in the agency/brand space and need to A<>B test.
Jay helped put a lot of things into perspective for me. He offered some practical advice + reference of how to solve the issues we currently facing, as well as being VERY generous in offering resources and help, i learned a lot in just 30 minutes and looking forward to have another call with him again. Thank you Jay!
An absolute pleasure & honor to talk with Ben - thoroughly enjoyed our time together. Ben listened well - he asked AMAZING questions in the lead-up to the call which meant a much more effective & impactful discussion. Ben Listened, brought relevant ideas & concepts for us to consider - he challenged our current way of doing things & also provided multiple tangible & useful tools that can be/will be/have been implemented immediately...along with some longer term thoughts & thinking models & suggestions He also validated many of the things & approaches we are taking with the business - which in itself was excellent as we are often so in the weeds it's hard to know if the path & 'million decisions' taken per day are actually right or not... MASSIVE thank you to Ben & also Mentor pass for making this call happen We look froward to more discussions Tom

Yes. Plenty of founders asking product questions here are pre-launch or early in revenue. The right early session is often demand validation and positioning, which saves you from ordering inventory for a product the market does not want.
Yes. Nate Call spent 15+ years in CPG quality and compliance at MaryRuth's and doTERRA and works on supply chain, packaging, labeling, and testing specifically.
