About

Frederic Scheffer is the founder, CEO and owner of Lone Rider, a 8 figure premium adventure motorcycle gear company known for tents, luggage systems, and protective moto armor built for real-world abuse. Since 2011, he has grown Lone Rider from a single idea into a globally distributed brand serving adventure riders across Europe, North America, and beyond. A lifelong motorcyclist, Frederic spent a decade living as a nomad and riding through more than 80 countries, while running the company, using that experience to inform every product decision. His early journeys included a 17,000 km ride from Beijing to Paris, long-haul expeditions across Latin America, and a multi-year round-the-world trip, often on uniquely demanding setups like a Ural sidecar. These trips exposed the failure points in conventional gear and inspired him to design equipment that balances durability, function, and rugged design for real expedition use. Under his leadership, Lone Rider has expanded from a single tent concept into a full ecosystem of products, including semi-rigid panniers and protective armor systems that are widely used by adventure riders in 110 countries. He brings a blend of field-tested insight, e-commerce operations, international logistics, and product IP strategy that is particularly valuable to founders building hardware or gear brands around a passionate community. How Frederic Can Help: 1. Evaluate and refine product ideas for outdoor / moto hardware based on real-world use 2. Help founders go from first prototype to production (suppliers, quality control, and iteration cycles) 3. Advise on building a niche, passion-driven brand and community around a specific lifestyle or sport 4. Share how to structure and scale global DTC operations (multiple regions, logistics, and customer support) 5. Guide early-stage IP strategy for physical products (design, differentiation, and patenting what matters)
